The Freedom Pass for older people is funded by your local council and gives free travel on most public transport in London, 24 hours a day (after 9.30am on most National Rail services within the London area), including all day at weekends and on public holidays. This pass may also be used to travel on local bus services in the rest of England under the terms of the Concessionary Bus Travel Act 2007.
You can apply for the Older Persons Freedom Pass if you meet the age criteria and your sole or principal residence is in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, or the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, or Westminster City Council. If you're a London resident, aged 60 or over, and not yet eligible for a Freedom Pass, you may be eligible for TfL's 60+ London Oyster Photocard. You can find out more on the Transport for London website.

You will need to provide proof of your identity, proof of your address and one colour passport-sized photograph to apply.
If you live in Kensington and Chelsea or Westminster
Renewing can be done online at www.freedompass.org You will need your unique renewal number from your letter, your date of birth and last four digits of the long number shown on the front of your existing Freedom Pass.
If you cannot renew online, you can return the form enclosed with your letter by post. Please send completed forms to

If your name and/or address details have changed since you originally applied for your Freedom Pass you will be required to provide proof of your new details. If you are renewing online you can upload the required documentation, alternatively you can return the required documentation by post. Freedom Passes cannot be renewed at the Post Office.

Freedom Pass holders who lose or damage their passes will be charged £10 for replacements.
