Staying warm to stay well this winter is really important but we know that energy bills can be a big financial concern for many especially with price increases fuelled by the worldwide demand for oil and gas.

Big Energy Saving Week runs from 17 to 23 January. It is a national campaign to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to.

The week focuses on raising public awareness of how to access discounts, make homes energy efficient and switch energy supplier or tariff to get the best deal.

You'd be surprised to know how some really simple steps can save you money over time, the Energy Saving Trust has compiled Quick tips to save energy page which could help you save up to £248 a year* on your bills. Citizens Advice have a handy 20 Ways to Save leaflet of easy, expert-approved, energy-saving actions

Switching suppliers can be a great way to save money, although the energy price rises in recent months have reduced the offers available, and Citizens Advice has an impartial price comparison tool that allows consumers to easily compare prices and rates so they can find the best deal.
