WARMTH - Groundwork
The WARMTH scheme is a free service which aims to reach out to residents and deliver in-home well being and energy visits, giving health and financial advice to some of Kensington & Chelsea's most vulnerable households - particularly elderly residents and those with multiple health conditions. The visits provide guidance on efficient energy usage in the home, understanding heating systems and free installation of small energy measures such as draught-proofing and energy monitors. Additionally it connects clients to further external services on offer with supported access to grants and funding for larger home improvements where applicable, creating the single-point-of-contact recommended by NICE. These early interventions can reduce the effects of cold homes on people's health and enable local residents to feel more connected to the community.
The scheme is primarily aimed for:
- People with a physical disability or suffering from long term illness
- People with mental health issues
- Those who are pregnant or have a child under 5 and on a low income
- Older Person (Over 65)
- Young Person (16-25) on a low income
