The Help Hub 
The Help Hub is an online therapy service offering free 20-minute sessions aimed at people who are self-isolating or struggling, with therapists across the UK.

If you are an older person, these schemes allow you to stay in touch over the phone, either through regular one-to-one chats, or as part of conversation groups.

  • Age UK's Call in Time telephone befriending service includes weekly Friendship Calls, and Good Day Calls which can take place several times per week. 
  • The Silver Line Telephone Friend service for older people connects you with someone to have a weekly chat to in the comfort of your own home.
  • The Silver Line Circles connects you to a group where people with shared interests can discuss topics that interest them.

  • The Pepper Pot Centre in North Kensington can provide a telephone befriending service to older people to check if they are well and to help with any problems.  Call 020 8968 6940 or email:
  • Imperial College Community Engagement's phone/video call befriending scheme is for those who are isolated for weekly social calls, share stories, get tech advice and just good company.  Email or call 07566 950 968. 
  • Be On Hand provides a befriending scheme and can help with minor errands. Call 0203 488 2912
  • In-Deep offer a befriending and home visiting scheme for older people living in South Westminster, and a range of other social activities.
  • Neighbourcare is a befriending organisation for older people living in NW8, W9, and nearby areas in Westminster. They have several Spanish speakers amongst their team of volunteers.

Computers, smartphones, tablets, and the internet are everywhere in modern life, and being able to access them can make many things so much easier, especially in this Coronavirus pandemic. There is plenty of help and support out there to get people of all backgrounds and ages online and comfortable with the internet.

The Abbey Centre - offers IT support remotely. Volunteers can help solve your IT problems on all your digital devices – computers, phones or tablets. For more information or to sign up for support, contact Caz on or 07818 202 935

Grand Junction -  offer FREE technical support to get you feeling confident about using IT to connect with your loved ones. Whether you need help to set up a Zoom account, want to write and receive emails on your smartphone, require support to install WhatsApp, or have a different technical issue. Contact Sara Peskett on or call 07518 710209, and let them know what support you require.

Imperial College Befriending and Tech Support Service: The College is running a phone befriending/tech support scheme for older residents in the area.  If you would like to be matched with an Imperial befriender/Tech support volunteer, please complete the online registration form or contact Keisha on or her directly 07708 326 342.  More information can be found here.

  • The Pepper Pot Centre in North Kensington - Provide a meals on wheels service to their membership of older people from their base in North Kensington but have spare capacity to provide this for non-members.  Call 020 8968 6940 or email: more information.
  • Age UK H&F Shopping Service– Book their shopping service by calling 020 7386 9085
  • London Dairies - Offers free next day home deliveries within London postcodes supplying your basic dairy needs and now offers this with their small fruit & veg box Call 020 8440 0619 or email 
  • Morrisons Shopping Service for the Elderly 
    ​Morrisons has a phone shopping service for older vulnerable people who can't go to the shops or have never used online shopping before. Choose from a menu of 47 items and items will be delivered to the door by an employee. Customers will need a bank card or mobile phone to pay and can use chip and pin or contactless.

  • Westminster Connect volunteers are carrying out shopping on behalf of residents
