Hopscotch Asian Women's Centre

Hopscotch provides a range of support services to women and families, that aim to improve their physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing. This includes a range of Home Care and Personal Assistance services that offer support to individuals and respite to their main carers. They also have Domestic Abuse and Women's services.

Their home care and personal assistance services to adults with different needs including:

  • Dementia
  • Physical disabilities
  • Brain injuries
  • Sensory impairments
  • Learning difficulties
  • Discharges from hospital

All services are flexible and can be tailored to meet your individual needs. They can assist with all aspects of:

  • Toileting, Washing, bathing and Dressing
  • Prompting and administration of medication
  • Shopping
  • Cleaning and laundry
  • Meal preparation, cooking and support to eat
  • Monitoring of safety
  • A “sitting” service to offer carers respite
  • Waking nights and sleep-ins 

In addition to services provided in the home, an escort service is available to accompany people to college, and assist with health and social wellbeing activities such as escorting to day centres, the gym, swimming and other day to day activities.

Currently services are provided to people living in Camden, Islington and Westminster.

Culturally sensitive

Culturally appropriate services are provided to userss with the service being sensitive to their dietary, religious and cultural needs. All carers are Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Arabic and Somali which means they speak English and a range of community languages including Bengali, Sylheti,

High quality

Their services are provided by trained, qualified and experienced carers with a minimum NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care. They also receive regular training including first aid, manual handling, health and safety, falls prevention and safeguarding adults.

They ensure that all carers have an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service and do monitor their performance on a regular basis. This includes quality checks at service users’ homes, telephone monitoring and spot visits.
