5 - DBS Check
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including the elderly and children.
Your Payroll company may be able to organise your DBS checks. Barrie Bookkeeping & Payroll can facilitate DBS checks for their clients and the cost taken out of your DP budget. You can discuss this with your social worker.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council can also organise DBS checks for Direct Payment users within these boroughs who employ Personal Assistants for their care and support.
This will cost £54.50 but this will be paid for out of their DP budget.
