Pension Credit

Pension Credit is an income-related benefit made up of two parts - Guarantee Credit and Savings Credit. Depending on your financial circumstances you may be eligible for one or both of these credits.

If you have reached the Pension Credit qualifying age, Guarantee Credit tops up your weekly income if it's below the minimum level which the government feels you need to live on. There are different Credit levels for single people and couples.

Savings Credit is an extra payment for people who have saved some money towards their retirement, eg a pension.

The gov.uk website provides information on all aspects of Pension Credit and a pension credit calculator so that you can work out your entitlement.
